Impact Report: Social value of The Glen (funded by the Paul Ramsay Foundation)

Every dollar invested in The Glen produces between $14.76 – $18.55 of social and economic value. This is an incredibly high ratio. This result is likely reflective of the transformative impact that The Glen has in people’s lives, as well as the focus of The Glen on strengthening Aboriginal Culture and identity. Indeed, this high ratio – which is still based on conservative assumptions – is in step with other programs that seek to enhance identity and Culture for Aboriginal Communities.

In total, the model indicates that The Glen produced $39 million of social value during the 12-month period of the study. This value was largely produced through several changes in clients’ lives. These can broadly be broken into three categories. First, functional changes relate to clients’ ability to manage their day-to-day lives and participate in the workforce. Extrinsic changes relate to the ways in which clients build or improve personal and professional relationships. Finally, intrinsic changes relate to improvements in clients’ internal states and mental wellbeing.
